Education

From learning about Denny and his process, to training with working professional cinematographers and camera team members, DCF fellows gain practical and valuable experience through personalized training and real world experience.

Resources

Access to professional cinematography classes, master classes and workshops, year-round events with SOC, ASC, ICG, manufacturers, media partners, trade shows, and others, assigned mentors - ASC, ICG and other high-value cinematographers and top camera, lens, accessories manufacturers that make cinema equipment. Industry mentors to provide technical help and and answer questions. Personalized visits to facilities and access to top guilds, unions and organizations for cinematographers

Short Film

Assistance with the production of a short film during fellowship, intended to be completed the 2nd half of the fellowship, after receiving training and mentoring. Included a production budget assistance grant for filming short film during fellowship, 1 week rental package donation - camera, lens, accessories package from partner rental house, and additional lighting, dolly, other equipment donations. Concludes with a Dinner/Event at ASC clubhouse with film screening and award presentation.

 

Fellowship Application Requirements

 
  1. Must be a cinematographer with some kind of credits

  2. Must be adult (18+), available to work & attend events in LA (or NY in the future)

  3. Must not be a member of a Union, Guild or professional cinematography organization that requires membership and dues
